For my second photo I stayed with the theme of humour . I found this time around editing was much easier and the final product a little more professional looking .  Like Paul Strand I prefer to use photography as a "medium of expression like paint, stone, words or sound."(Strand,144)

I borrowed a photograph of a bicycle from a website and then took one myself of my dog Rusty.  My Mom offered Rusty a treat . While he went up on his back legs to beg for it a took the shot . I put Rusty on the bike as if he was actually riding it . The picture of Rusty had a beige background . I figured out how to erase that and "paint" in the same background as the bike .

Again I have created art photography . It is meant to be cute and whimsical . In no way does it depict news or a current event .

Photography is an art . Sometimes to be used as an aid for artists of other mediums . Painters and sculptures will sometimes use photos to create other masterpieces . Could you imagine if there were cameras in the days of Julius Caesar or Mona Lisa?  Like Beaumont Newshell quoted from a letter he received from Eugene Delacroix, "how he regrets such a wonderful invention came so late."(Newshell,82)

DB 5 War Images Fenton, Brady, Gardiner and Capa were all photographers that captured images of war.   Fenton, the first to depict the war, did not take any photos of actual war or the aftermath . I got the impression that he wasn't close enough to the real action and took photographs of what he saw from where he was on the outskirts.   Brady did not take many of the photographs in his collection.  H hired others to do the work for him.  The collection did not capture the reality of the war.   Gardners photographs are a lot more graphic!  He captured the reality of the ugly side of the war were happening around them.   Capa, unlike the others, liked to photograph peoples expressions as events of the war.  He tried to show the brighter side, showing caring and compassion in his photographs.  He lived by his own rule "If your photographs aren't good enough, you're not close enough". Can Art Be Mechanically Reproduced? When something is reproduced for so many times is that art? This is one of those questions that will always have some people saying yes, and some saying no.   I believe a reproduction is art. For instance, we have all seen the famous photograph of Whistler’s Mother and agree it is a work of art, but most of us have only seen it in a book or magazine.   Very few of us have actually visited the museum in Paris to view the original.   The same goes for other forms of art.   We agree Beethoven and Mozart were musical geniuses, but we have only heard reproductions of their original work. If we look at Kevin Carters photograph Starving Child it doesn’t matter if we see the original or a reproduction, the impact intended by the photograph is the same and they are both considered artistic.
